Call Kaiser crazy, but he thinks Omar's days are numbered. Why would we get Ricky when we already have Mac ready to step in? It may not happen in the off season, but if Atlanta has Rapheal Furcal go down they'll be wanting Omar in the worst way. They'll pay in talent, too.
Other teams will be the same way. Omar's price tag is too tempting, and his glove belongs in the HOF.

What a drop from last year. MacDonald will be okay defensively, Guttierez is a huge step down offensively and defensively. The guy has little power, no speed, and is 31 years old. Shapiro needs to get his head out of his butt.

What was he thinking? No kidding, Kaiser would rather have Jolbert or Mac out there full time over Ricky making $4M a year.
This one goes down under the Cordero category. When he is 34 we'll be very sorry.

I do believe Omar is on the market, and I won't object to trading him if we get some more quality young studs.
Another reason why Shapiro might have signed Ricky: 3rd base insurance. If Branyan is traded and Fryman is still hurting, he will come in handy.
Nice to see you, Kaiser. We have a lot in common. (We both got drunk many times in Columbus).

If Guttierez ends up playing any significant time at 3b, this will be the worst Tribe team in a decade.
